Jacqueline J. (Santora) Zimmerman is a research dietitian in the bionutrition unit of Columbia University’s Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Vassar College, Jacqueline worked in the Knowledge Management department of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, a large corporate law firm. Over ten years later, she left her position to complete her Dietetic Internship and Master’s degree, both at Teachers College, Columbia University.
While in graduate school, Jacqueline joined the Policy Working Group of School Food FOCUS as a research associate and intern coordinator. She collected and analyzed materials for use by policy associates in targeted legislative advocacy, presenting testimony and building case studies. Now, at the Irving Institute, Jacqueline’s work combines her love of nutrition research, recipe development and counseling. Every day brings new and exciting challenges.
Jacqueline is a member of the Society for Nutrition Education, Greater New York Dietetic Association and several ADA Dietetic Practice Groups, including Hunger and Environmental Nutrition, Behavioral Health Nutrition, Nutrition Entrepreneurs and Diabetes Care and Education.
